Jon R. Parsons

Jon’s academic background is in Chinese and Indian Studies, and while doing graduate studies at the University of Chicago, he spent 1974-1975 attending the National Taiwan University in Taipei.  He received his JD from Santa Clara University in 1979, where he was a member of the school’s State Moot Court Team (1978), received the Outstanding Oral Advocate award (1978) and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Commendation for Distinguished Achievement (1979).  Jon passed the California bar in 1979 and has practiced in Palo Alto ever since.  In addition to holding a California license, Jon is a member of the bar of the U.S. District Courts for all four Districts of California, and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for both the Ninth Circuit and the Federal Circuit in Washington D.C.

For the last thirty years Jon has been active in both the transaction and litigation side of business organizations, with particular experience forming and representing U.S. subsidiaries of corporations based in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.  He has represented numerous religious entities in the U.S. and overseas, and has advised extensively on the business aspects of religious activities.

A member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, Palo Alto Area Bar and the American Bar Association. Jon relaxes as a member of the Palo Alto Lawn Bowls Club and Mensa.

Heather Ledgerwood - Associate

Heather received her JD from Golden Gate University School of Law with Honors including several awards and certificates in Litigation, Criminal Law, and Public Interest Law.  She won the California State Bar Foundation award two years in a row for her dedication to Public Interest Law.  Prior to law school, Heather spent 6 years as a social worker in Seattle, Washington working with people with developmental disabilities and 3 years as a foster care worker in Detroit, Michigan.  Heather received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Japanese Studies from University of California at San Diego.  Heather completed her Certificate in Japanese Studies at Kansai Gaidai University from 1990-1991 in Hirakata City, Japan.

Currently, Heather works with employment law, wrongful evictions, corporate and LLC formations, civil litigation, drafting and administering wills and trusts, and counseling on special education legal issues.  Heather’s special interests include Wine Law.

Heather is married with 3 children and two cats.  She plays string bass with the Palo Alto Baroque Ensemble, and has been a den mother for the Duveneck Pack 50 Cub Scouts since 2004.
