Jon R. Parsons
Jon R. Parsons, Founder of the Jon R. Parsons Law Firm, has been providing legal services in Palo Alto, and San Mateo and Santa Clara counties for 30 years. Mr. Parsons practices real property law, labor and employment law, and business litigation and formation. He also provides legal advice on business operations, and advises religious and spiritual organizations in business and organizational matters.
Mr. Parsons has extensive experience in the transaction and litigation aspects of business organizations. He has experience forming and representing U.S. subsidiaries of corporations based in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea, and has represented many religious entities in the U.S. and overseas.
With an academic background in Chinese and Indian Studies, Mr. Parsons received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois, and attended the University of Chicago for his graduate studies. While pursuing his graduate studies, Mr. Parsons attended National Taiwan University in Taipei for a year. Through his studies and travels, Mr. Parsons became conversant in Mandarin and can read the language as well.
He then attended Santa Clara School of Law, where he was a member of the university's State Moot Court Team, received the Outstanding Oral Advocate Award, and was awarded the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Commendation for Distinguished Achievement.
Mr. Parsons received his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1979. He is admitted to practice law in all state courts of California; the U.S. District Courts of Central, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of California; and the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Parsons belongs to several professional organizations, including the Santa Clara County Bar Association, Palo Alto Area Bar, and the American Bar Association. In his free time, Mr. Parsons participates as a member of the Palo Alto Lawn Bowls Club and Mensa.

Heather Ledgerwood
Heather Ledgerwood is an Associate at Jon R. Parsons Law Firm, who practices employment law, real estate law including wrongful evictions, corporate and LLC formations, civil litigation, wills and trusts, and special education law. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, with a minor in Japanese Studies, from the University of California, San Diego. She also completed her certificate in Japanese Studies at Kansai Gaidai University in Hirakata City, Japan.
Ms. Ledgerwood worked as a social worker for six years in Seattle, Washington, working with people with developmental disabilities. She also spent three years working as a foster care worker in Detroit, Michigan.
Ms. Ledgerwood then attended Golden Gate University School of Law, where she received her Juris Doctor degree. She received honors in several subjects including litigation, criminal law, and public interest law. Notably, Ms. Ledgerwood received the California State Bar Foundation's award for her commitment to public interest law two years in a row.
She is admitted to practice law in all state courts of California, and belongs to the civil practice and judicial review committees of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, a professional law association. She is also a member of the American Bar Association.
Ms. Ledgerwood has three children and two cats, and enjoys playing string bass with the Palo Alto Baroque Ensemble. Additionally, since 2004, she has been a den mother for the Duveneck Pack 50 Cub Scouts.
